Manage supplier invoice holds. Analyze global spending trends and recommend cost saving opportunities. Identify, propose and initiate implementation of process efficiencies/improvements. May assist in training of new buyers and end users. Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Commodity knowledge, excellent written and oral communication, customer service, computer and negotiation skills, and ability to multitask. 2 year experience and BS/BA degree or equivalent.
Lead Commodity Manager (East Africa) Organization Name: Source to Settle/Global Procurement Department Description: The Global Procurement organization delivers sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation services to optimize spend and mitigate risk for Oracle. The department delivers these services globally in all countries where Oracle conducts business.
Job Description Reporting to the Procurement Director for Africa, the Lead Commodity Manager, Africa Procurement will provide additional Procurement/S2S support in Nairobi as well as some Eastern/Central African countries in furtherance of Oracle’s expansion in Africa. The Lead Commodity Manager, Africa Procurement will help coordinate procurement initiatives and sourcing activities in the region while enhancing due diligence with regards to local suppliers. This role will also help in the proactive resolution of some S2S challenges such as Expense Reimbursement and Accounts payable. Responsibilities: The Lead Commodity Manager, Africa Procurement is a regional role covering Kenya and Eastern/Central African and includes (but is not limited to) the following responsibilities: •Collaborating with the global spend category teams to implement Oracle’s procurement policies and procedures in the assigned region with a focus on increasing spend under management, cost savings, and risk mitigation
•Negotiating and/or reviewing purchase transactions and associated supplier agreements of varying complexity and for various services to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with Oracle’s guidelines
•Educating internal employees and business partners on corporate policies and procedures
•Advising internal employees and business partners on the implementation or operation of compliance programs
•Building and maintaining strong relationships with the Global Commodities teams, the Global Procurement Contracts Team and other internal business units
•Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and other external stakeholders
•Managing regional projects and drafting business summaries and/or executive approval requests
•Identifying, proposing, and implementing business process improvements and automation
•Analyzing spend trends to identify cost savings opportunities
•Conducting sourcing activities including RFI’s, RFQ’s, and RFP’s
•Conducting periodic supplier business reviews
•Ensuring full compliance with local regulations Preferred Qualifications:
•6 years of relevant work experience and a BS/BA degree or equivalent
•Procurement experience including sourcing, cost/price analysis, contracting, and supplier management
•Highly cultivated interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build relationships with and influence individuals both up and down the organizational hierarchy
•Excellent oral and written communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders on a regional, global, and/or virtual basis
•Candidate must be confident, self-motivated, and driven to deliver business results including cost savings
•Candidate must also have strong organizational skills and be comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment
•Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and negotiation skills
•Ability to work independently
