Medical Affairs Officer – Urgently Required

Reporting to the Medical HOD, the Medical Affairs Officer will be responsible for providing superior interventional and preventative medical care to clients both in inpatient and outpatient services.


Main Duties and Responsibilities


  • Serve as medical and operational lead for overseeing the planning, implementation, tracking, and communication of the Organisation for their assigned Services.

  • Develop and manage the organisation, project plan with timelines, team lists and program budgets.

  • Provide central point of program contact on behalf of the functional teams (PO&T, Regulatory, SLA Operations, Medical Service providers, vendors, Legal/Compliance, Program Team, Finance, and other functions as deemed appropriate).

  • Liaise with SLA Partner / Medical Service provider points of contact for the organisation to ensure patients / clients are properly serviced and supported.

  • Partner with appropriate Medical functional contacts to develop communication materials and correspond with internal key stakeholders regarding program status, so that they may accurately correspond with external partners.

  • Partner with appropriate Medical functional contacts to develop training materials, and provide training to appropriate team members and stakeholders on program objectives, time lines, etc.

  • Manage daily activities of Medical Service providers of Existing SLA partners and ensure, for example, Medical service provider and other relevant documentation are completed, successfully executed, and updated as needed.

  • Conduct regular team meetings with both Clinic Members, Medical team and selected vendor to track progress and outcomes, as appropriate

  • Oversee all administrative closeout procedures are completed, including final payments to SLA partners.

  • Work closely with Legal, Compliance, and Medical if applicable, to develop relevant SOPs and other operational processes needed for the successful execution of the program.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Medicine and Surgery (BHMAS/ MBBS),/Medical related degree

  • Valid private practice and annual licenses from KMPDB ( Kenya Medical and Practitioner Dentists Board), Valid certification on ATLS( Advance Trauma Life Support ),

  • ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support) will be an added advantage.

  • 5 – 15 Years’ experience working in a busy hospital environment or a chain of clinics or Health care

  • 5+ years related work experience as an expanded access and/or clinical trials manager.

  • Proven experience in coordinating expanded access programs and/or clinical trials

  • Knowledge of guidelines and other applicable local and international expanded access regulations

  • Experience leading cross-functional team

  • Experience in global organization strongly preferred

  • Experience with vendor management

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Experience developing and managing budgets and contracts

  • Solid computer and internet skills including knowledge of MS-Office products such as Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Preferably have undergone Global Medical Accreditation program.
